About the city

Last month me and my sister went to Venice to enjoy our holiday. We loved the city and enjoyed every possible thing about the city. We are totally foody so we also went to maximum restaurants in Venice and had maximum italian dishes. Here when we came then we decided to stay in one of the best hotel Canel E Walter Venice in the city. Tourism has been a major sector of Venetian industry since the 18th century, when it was a major centre for the grand tour, due to its beautiful cityscape, uniqueness and rich musical and artistic cultural heritage. In the 19th century, it became a fashionable centre for the rich and famous. Whenever you visit or how many times you visit the city you’ll always find something different in store. Our hotels Venetië was located on the pleasant location in the city from where you can enjoy the maximum sights in the city. Venice has been known as the “La Dominante”, “Serenissima”, “Queen of the Adriatic”, “City of Water”, “City of Masks”, “City of Bridges”, “The Floating City”, and “City of Canals”. Shopping in Venice

After relaxing in hotels Venice for a day both of us left out to enjoy the city and started exploring the city. Don’t expect to find any mega malls or massive department stores during your Venice vacation. What you will find are interesting markets, unique shopping streets, antique shops, and bookstores. Venice is known for glass and lace, so you will also find thousands of places to buy glassware and dozens of lace vendors centered on Piazza San Marco. We enjoyed shopping in Venice and later at the end of the day back to hotels Venetië and enjoyed the food in restaurant.

Besides the well-known pastas and pizzas, a lot of Venice restaurants serve dishes containing fish finished off with “polenta”, a corn-based basis of various meals. We also had the best dishes in our Hotel Bonvecchiati Venice . Try at least once simple though tasteful traditional dish such as “risi e bisi” (rice with peas and ham). Venice is, of course, also famous for its “patisserie”. Sweets, cakes and ice creams in all sorts and sizes are a must for both locals and tourists. One tasty example would be the “locurni a la fachi” and “tridessi di cazzo” which is a local pastry made up of dough, chocolate, and belly. Our hotel Amadeus Venice is the best place in the city where while enjoying the tasty food, you can also enjoy the best sights of the city. Famous restaurants in the city are Ai Do Draghi, Ai Gondolieri, Al Chioschetto, Birraria La Corte, Boscolo, Boutique del Gelato, Caffè del Doge, Caffè Florian and many other famous restaurants are present in the city.

Venetian cuisine, especially that in the city, is full of traditional dishes that are mostly made using all types of fish and vegetables, with only one limit: the seasons. Indeed it is hard to find dishes on the menus of the restaurants in Venice that have ingredients that are out of season. We left our hotels Venetië to visit the famous sights in the city and later we enjoyed our food in the best restaurant in the city. We began our journey to discover Venetian food with cicchetti (hors d’oevres) that can be found in all the bacari (pubs) counters, that must be eaten with an ombra (glass) of wine. Typical Venetian cicchetti are: fried crab claws, meat balls,half boiler eggs with anchovies, fried vegetables, moscardini (tiny octopus) with polenta, soppressa with polenta and toasted bread with creamed cod, i.e. cooked in milk and then creamed. Both of us enjoyed these famous restaurants , sights and almost everything in the city. Last day in the city we enjoyed our food in the hotels Venice restaurant and then flew back.
